What is iPortfolios?
iPortfolios is an online investment platform that guides you through the process of investing in a lineup of ETF Store portfolios on your own. iPortfolios provides helpful, interactive tools allowing you to invest for specific goals such as retirement or saving for a home purchase. Simply complete a personal risk tolerance questionnaire and based on the information you provide, the platform will select the appropriate model portfolio for your situation. Your portfolio will then be monitored on an ongoing basis, with changes made as required by market conditions or changes to your unique situation. Your portfolio will also be automatically rebalanced on a regular basis.
How do I get started?
Visit iportfolios.com, enter your e-mail address, create a password and you can immediately access the platform. There is no obligation or requirement to fund an investment account. If you decide to fund an account, you can complete an online application to setup and fund your account.
What types of accounts can I setup?
Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Rollover IRA, Individual Taxable Account, and Joint Taxable Account.
Where is my account held?
Your account will be held at TD Ameritrade, one of the largest custodians in the country.
How do I fund my account?
During the account setup process, you can setup a transfer from your bank or request a transfer of an existing account to TD Ameritrade.
Is there a minimum balance required?
Currently, there is a $5,000 minimum account balance required.
Can I setup automatic contributions to my account?
Yes. You can setup automatic monthly contributions to your account or simply request one-time deposits at your discretion.
What types of investments will my account hold?
Your account will be invested in low-cost Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
What are the fees for iPortfolios?
We charge an annual fee of 0.50%. This fee is billed monthly, in arrears, and calculated based on the average value of your account each day during the prior month. The ETFs held in your portfolio also charge an annual expense ratio, which currently averages approximately 0.15% annually.
How do I get funds out of my account?
Simply go to the “Add/Withdraw Funds” tab and request a withdrawal.
